The Aviemore Gallery Puts Framing Business back in The Picture
The Aviemore Gallery in Inverdruie has put a local business back in the picture recently after taking over the framing side of Aviemore Photographic and appointing framer, Daniel Cottam.
The gallery, run by Lizzie and Stewart Macintyre, which sells a range of affordable art by local and Scottish artists, bought the picture framing business from Pavel Satny – the brains behind Aviemore Photographic, which was set up in 1974.
Daniel, who started training as a picture framer under Pavel’s guidance in 2002, will head up the framing side of The Aviemore Gallery from now on.
Lizzie Macintyre said: “We are delighted to be able to offer a picture framing service to our clients. It gives us an added service to offer our customers – whether they bring their own pictures and art work in to get framed or whether they spot one of our limited edition pieces of art they want framed. Daniel is a really talented framer and painter so not only does he have the technical ability he also has an eye for what suits a picture or a piece of art. We are really happy he has joined the team.”
Lizzie continues: “Looking back to all the connections between the three of us, it does seem inevitable that we would all work together in some way again!”
